( – A video depicting a massive line of migrants near the Texas border spread on social media last week, as the nation prepared for an influx in the number of migrant crossings following the termination of Title 42. Many Twitter users were quick to react to the video below, criticizing those in charge for what was happening.

Title 42 is a public health order that former President Donald Trump put to use back in 2020. Since then, it has allowed authorities to deport at the U.S.-Mexico border throughout President Joe Biden’s time in office so far. The measure has been used by the Biden administration for the past couple years, at a time when many South American countries are facing circumstances which have led to an increase in illegal migration. According to Newsweek, current government data indicates that around 2.7 million people have been removed from the US under Title 42.

The use of Title 42 has earned its fair share of criticism, as it prevents migrants from being able to come to the US. However, there are others who have supported the continuous usage of the measure even after the public health emergency has ended.

On May 7, Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin took to social media to display the drone footage that was captured near the border which shows a huge number of migrants who had recently crossed the border from Mexico to the US. According to Melugin, the video was taken from the Fox drone team close to Brownsville, Texas. As of May 12, it’s been viewed more than 11 million times. Melugin also notes that the majority of those who can be seen waiting in line are single adults. However, the exact number of migrants on the line is not specified.

The video also sparked a decent amount of outrage on social media, with thousands of people chiming in.
