( – The mask debate is still in full swing. Some people are wholeheartedly on board with making everyone wear facial coverings, but even the most determined advocates of mandates may step out of line. When they do, people are quick to call them out.

Stacey Abrams (D), a gubernatorial candidate in Georgia, is under fire for going maskless when posing with a group of children. The former representative visited Glennwood Elementary School near Atlanta to promote the African-American read-in. While there, she posted pictures to Twitter, including multiple images showing her maskless despite a mandate put in place by the Decatur City Commission. Everyone else in the pictures was wearing a mask.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) said it’s clear to see the mask mandates for school children Stacey Abrams has been pushing wouldn’t apply to her. National Review editor Rich Lowry said Abrams is the face of “mask hypocrisy,” abundant among Democrats. Political advisor Stephen Miller said the pictures of a maskless Abrams express the “elitism, arrogance, cruelty, science denial, and glib authoritarianism” of the Left.

In a statement to Fox News, Abrams’ campaign said critics used the Black History Month reading event to further their own agendas. They called the comments a “false political attack” and said they were trying to distract people from their own failures in the pandemic.
