Survey: Americans Think Trump Was More Successful With Economy Than Biden

(ConservativeHub.com) – In a new ABC News/Washington Post survey, 54 percent of participants shared their belief that former President Donald Trump did better at handling the economy, while 36 percent of participants stated the same about President Joe Biden. The poll also noting that when pitted against one another, Trump gained 49 percent of general support, while only 42 percent said they would back Biden.

This newest poll comes after a Fox News survey from late April showed that the majority of voters believe that the economy is not in a good state. According to the survey, a large number of respondents also stated that the economy was getting worse for their family. Notably, many of the respondents did not believe that the White House was actively trying to help.

Specifically, 21 percent stated that the economy was in excellent or good shape while 78 percent stated that it was in fair or poor condition. In December 2020, at the end of the Trump administration, 33 percent believed that the economy was going well, while 66 percent believed it was in fair or poor condition.

Meanwhile, the ABC News/Washington Post poll also showed that the majority of Americans do not believe that Biden is in the position either physically or mentally to serve a second term, with 63 percent of participants specifically stating that he did not have the “mental sharpness” required for the job. Thirty-two percent believe he has the mental sharpness required, while 5 percent do not have an opinion.
