(ConservativeHub.com) – After Democrats sought to impeach former President Donald Trump numerous times, it’s possible that the tables will turn by the time this year is out. During his end-of-the-year podcast, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) asserted Republicans might try to impeach President Joe Biden if they win back Congress during the 2022 midterms.
On Friday, December 31, Cruz spoke with Michael Knowles and Liz Wheeler on his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz.” During the discussion, the Texas Senator emphasized how Democrats had “crossed” the “line” when they “weaponized impeachment” against Trump during his presidency.
Cruz went on to imply his party may impeach the sitting president down the road, citing “multiple grounds” worth considering, including most prominently, “the utter lawlessness of President Biden’s refusal to enforce the border.”

Republicans already tried to impeach Biden last September, when GOP representative Bob Gibbs (R-OH) filed articles of impeachment for “flagrant & deliberate violations of his oath of office.” While that motion didn’t make it far, a right-leaning congressional majority and more presidential missteps could allow new articles of impeachment a chance for success. At least, that’s what Ted Cruz thinks.
