(ConservativeHub.com) – The Ironman Triathlon is a series of long-distance competitions consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bicycle ride, and a 26.22-mile run organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. Sadly, a group of Ironman competitors recently fell victim to the irresponsible behavior of a teenage pickup truck driver while they were training for the event.
On Saturday, September 25, an unidentified 16-year-old hit at least six cyclists training for an upcoming competition outside Houston, Texas. The driver reportedly attempted to blow exhaust on the cyclists in a maneuver called “rolling coal.”

Unfortunately, the driver apparently misgauged the distance. He hit three cyclists before engaging his brakes and crashed into at least three others before bringing his vehicle to a halt.
A local news station reported that two of the injured riders received medical attention at a local hospital. Emergency rescue workers transported two others by helicopter to a Houston hospital. The remaining riders refused medical treatment at the scene.
Chase Ferrell, a bicyclist uninjured in the incident, told local reporters there was no reason for the incident. “It wasn’t like he was on his phone,” Ferrell explained. Continuing, he said the driver “definitely” intended to scare the cyclists. However, he made a mistake, which resulted in injuries.
Witnesses reported the teenage driver remained on the scene until rescue workers’ arrival and spoke to local law enforcement officials. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
