(ConservativeHub.com) – In September, President Joe Biden issued an executive order forcing federal contractors to vaccinate fully against COVID-19 or face likely termination. However, over two dozen states have filed lawsuits attempting to stop the mandate, citing it as an unconstitutional overreach of executive power. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) is one of the AGs joining the fight.
On Monday, November 15, Paxton’s office announced it filed a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Biden’s vaccine mandate. In the press release, Paxton’s office said the mandate was just a part of Biden’s plan “to revitalize his flagging vaccination campaign at the cost of individual liberty.” Additionally, Paxton called out the president for his “blatant disdain” for unvaccinated Americans, emphasizing, “Texans do not have to sacrifice their beliefs and their health to preserve their livelihoods.”
Paxton also recently filed a lawsuit against the administration over mandates for healthcare workers, which he discusses in the Tweet below:
Breaking: At a time when we need healthcare workers more than ever before, amid a harrowing worker shortage, the Biden Administration has prioritized this unlawful vaccine mandate over the healthcare of all Americans. Once again Biden, I’ll see you in court! #VaccineMandates https://t.co/2clfK7LVS7

The Texas attorney general has joined a host of AGs and states trying to push back against Biden’s vaccine mandate on behalf of federal contractors. As these cases wind through the courts, it will be vital to see what holds up under judicial scrutiny based on the US Constitution and what does not.
