Top White House Official Tests Positive for COVID

( – Sadly, COVID-19 is an equal opportunity virus. It doesn’t matter whether a person is young or old, healthy or infirm, powerful or a nobody. Anyone is susceptible to catching the coronavirus, including key White House personnel like Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

On Sunday, October 31, Psaki issued a statement on her Twitter account announcing she tested positive for COVID-19. As she explained, several members of her household tested positive for the coronavirus. Since then, Psaki said she quarantined and tested negative for the virus daily from Wednesday through Saturday. However, on Sunday, she tested positive.

Continuing, Psaki explained that she had not been in close contact with President Joe Biden or other senior White House staff members since Wednesday. According to her statement, the last time she saw the president in person was on Tuesday. She said they both wore masks and maintained six feet of distance during that meeting.

Psaki concluded her statement by writing that she only “experienced mild symptoms” associated with COVID-19, “thanks to the vaccine.” She said she planned to return to work in person ten days after she tests negative for the virus.

Psaki had planned to go to Europe with President Biden to attend the G20 Summit meeting in Rome, Italy. She had to cancel those plans when she tested positive for COVID-19.
