(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump found the latest group to criticize in the face of Evangelical leaders. While during his first campaign for the presidency, the support of Evangelical leaders had been key to Trump winning the presidency, that same support does not appear to be given now. In fact, most faith leaders have not disclosed their support towards Trump who in November announced his third presidential campaign.

While appearing on Real America’s Voice, Trump spoke to The Water Cooler host David Brody, saying he felt that evangelical leaders were no longer supporting him. He called this a “sign of disloyalty,” according to Newsweek. This is despite the fact that it was Trump’s appointment of Supreme Court Justices that were key to the overturning of Roe v. Wade and thus stopping the federal protection that abortion rights had up until that point.

He added that outside of that, his presidency had aligned with the evangelical’s mission through initiatives that allowed public dollars to be used for funding private and religious schools.

Trump said that politics are filled with disloyalty. He also claimed that he had done more than anyone for the pro-life movement, especially considering it was his three Justices that made it possible for Roe to be overturned.

Despite this, there are some evangelical leaders that have even gone as far as to blame Trump for the underwhelming performance of the GOP in 2022, according to Newsweek. However, Trump said that he was the one disappointed as he did not believe that the evangelicals had fought as hard as necessary during election time.
