(ConservativeHub.com) – Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) may be a Republican, but she has come under fire multiple times by the party for her actions toward former President Donald Trump. With the midterms approaching, Cheney is looking to keep her seat in Congress, but the competition is heating up, and she may have a tough fight ahead.
In a poll conducted by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee on January 22, Cheney lost to Trump-endorsed challenger Harriet Hageman by 53 votes. The group of party activists polled overwhelmingly favored Hageman, who got 59 of the 71 votes.

Cheney drew criticism over her vote to impeach the former president and her participation in the January 6 committee. President Trump has endorsed Hageman as the better choice over the current representative.
Those polled included representatives from each county and state party members. Three of the voters were members of Hageman’s family. The straw poll is not an indicator of how the whole state may vote, but it offers a look at where the party is leaning.
Neither Hageman nor Cheney is looking to this poll to predict the midterm’s outcome. A Cheney spokesperson said only the election results matter, and Hageman noted there will be many polls from now until November showing varying results.
