(ConservativeHub.com) – On Sunday, October 29, former President Donald Trump attacked Judge Arthur Engoron on social media and referred to him as “CRAZY.” In his statement, he added that Engoron needed to be “thrown off the Bench.” He also claimed that if he had any other judge, the case against him would have been dropped.
Last year, New York Attorney General Letitia James brought against Trump a $250 million civil fraud where it was alleged that Trump along with other Trump Organization executives had defrauded banks and insurers by inflating the worth of his assets in order to secure more beneficial deals. Trump, who is the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, has claimed that he committed no wrongdoings and that the case was politically motivated.
Engoron is the judge presiding over Trump’s case, and last week he decided that Trump needed to be fined for the second time as he had violated a partial gag order that was blocking him from attacking any of the court staff involved in the case. The first fine was given to Trump on October 20, as Engoron had stated that Trump needed to pay a $5,000 fine over having violated the gag order by allowing a post to remain on his Truth Social platform. The judge had instructed him to delete the post more than two weeks earlier.
Trump slammed Engoron in the past, calling him “incompetent.” On Saturday, he also argued that Engoron was a “political hack” after he decided that his daughter, Ivanka Trump was obliged to testify in person in the case despite not being a defendant in the case. Engoron argued that despite not being a resident of New York, she could be subpoenaed as she owned property and had done business in the state.
