(ConservativeHub.com) – Ever since he left office, devotees have questioned, “will he or won’t he?” Former President Donald Trump has teased his base about throwing his hat in the ring again in 2024 more than a few times. Yet, he’s indicated that he wants to see how things play out in 2022, first. On Tuesday, March 1, the candidates he endorsed rocked the Texas Primaries.
Texas held its primaries, the first in the nation to do so, to determine who would run for midterm elections. Every Trump-endorsed candidate either won the vote or some, like Attorney General Ken Paxton, advanced to a run-off. Could this be a sign that the former president still carries weight in the Republican Party?
Governor Greg Abbott (R) faced seven challengers and still managed to come out on top after pledging to continue Trump’s border wall and oust House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) from her position. He’ll face off against Beto O’Rourke (D) in the midterm gubernatorial election.

Other major GOP winners include Comptroller Glenn Hegar and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
As the first primary for the year, it definitely sets the tone for what’s yet to come. But one thing is very clear: things are looking up for Trump-backed candidates at midterms. Time will tell if this momentum keeps up.
