(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump, who has previously expressed skepticism regarding the usage of artificial intelligence, revealed last week that he had a speech rewritten with AI and indicated he was impressed by it. Despite this, he argued that he considers the technology to be “alarming.”
During an appearance on the podcast “Impaulsive” with social media influencer and host Logan Paul, Trump said that what AI can do is “crazy” and that it could also be used to do “good.” According to the former president, “one of the top people” showed him how AI can be used. He said the individual showed him how, within 15 seconds, his speech could be rewritten “beautifully.” He added that he had never seen something like that and that he would be using it.
Trump stated that he thinks speechwriters will ultimately become a thing of the past because of AI. He referred to the tool as a bit “scary.”
Back in February, Trump had referred to artificial intelligence as very “dangerous.” He had made these comments during an interview with Fox host Maria Bartiromo.
With political campaigns intensifying ahead of the 2024 presidential race, many political observers and technology experts have warned about the potential dangers posed by AI. On Thursday while speaking to Paul, Trump spoke about both his fears and interest in AI.
He revealed that he had previously seen himself pictured promoting a product with the lips moving completely perfectly and his voice synched. As he argued this was “scary.” He has also met with tech industry execs and has seen the things that they have done using AI. While he expressed concerns about the risks of AI such as deepfakes, he also indicated he wanted to see how everything “works out.”
