(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump during a recent interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade stated that had he still been the U.S. president, then Israel would not have needed “to be prepared.” With his comment, Trump implied that the U.S. would have been able to detect and block Hamas from launching the coordinated attacks against Israel. Following the attacks, a war was sparked between Israel and Hamas, which is the militant group controlling Gaza.

In the interview, Trump indicated that it is necessary to protect Israel. He added that there was no choice as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was unprepared for the incident, is hurting “very badly” because of what was happening there.

The fighting between Israel and Gaza has resulted in casualties from both sides, with death tolls rapidly rising.

The Israeli military had not anticipated the attacks, which resulted in Hamas being able to infiltrate the Israeli border for days before being pushed back. The attacks have also led to many slamming Netanyahu and Israeli conservatives, according to The Hill

Trump said no one would have thought that Israeli intelligence couldn’t pick up on the attack that included thousands of people. He added that this was not a good thing for anyone, including Netanyahu.

Following the terrorist attacks, Israel has launched repeated airstrikes in the Gaza Strip which have led to entire neighborhoods being leveled. On October 13, Israel ordered an evacuation of northern Gaza ahead of a planned ground invasion.
