(ConservativeHub.com) – In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, former President Donald Trump told Fox News that if they did not start to back him, then they would lose their “beautiful golden goose” forever. In his post, Trump claimed that the first Republican primary debate, which he chose to not attend despite being the front-runner in the race, had managed to bring in fewer views than his interview aired on that same day with former Fox News star Tucker Carlson.
The interview ended up being released on X, previously known as Twitter, at the same time as August 23’s presidential debate. Later, Fox stated that the presidential debate averaged 13 million viewers, which is lower than the first Republican debate in August 2015, according to Newsweek.
Trump claimed in his social media post that his interview had garnered 260 million views while the presidential debate only had 11 million viewers. He added that if Fox News did not start to support his movement, then they would continue to lose ratings and viewers who are never going to return to the network.
However, it’s important to note that there is no connection between the number of viewers and the number of views on X, which is where Trump’s interview was posted. View numbers are counted by accounting for all views from users logged into their Twitter accounts, regardless of whether or not they follow the person who uploaded the post. If the author looks at the tweet they post, that would also be calculated as a view on the platform.
