Trump Spokesman Delivers Announcement After Trial Acquittal

( – Donald Trump thanked his legal team and the Republican senators who voted against impeachment in a statement released shortly after his February 13 acquittal. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke with reporters later in the day, relaying Trump’s message that the former president was ready to focus on helping Republicans take back the House and Senate in 2022.

Former Trump strategist Jason Miller also spoke about his recent conversations with Trump regarding the impeachment trial during a Newsmax interview that aired on Monday, February 15.

He told co-hosts Sean Spicer and Lyndsay Keith that Donald Trump was “relieved” at being acquitted. Like Graham, he also related that the former president was ready to put the “second impeachment witch hunt” behind him.

Miller concluded the interview with a warning that Democrats have set a horrible precedent by using the impeachment process as a political tool to take down rivals. He cited the example of Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who stands accused of developing a relationship with a former Chinese spy.

Miller said he would love to see Swalwell and others like Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on the hot seat of impeachment. However, he concluded that politics shouldn’t play into decisions to impeach someone.
