(ConservativeHub.com) – A new report indicates that former President Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, was the subject of an FBI counterintelligence inquiry many years ago.
According to Bloomberg, the FBI had been examining accusations pertaining to her connection to Czechoslovakia, where she was originally from.
The FBI released redacted files relating to Ivana Trump, which showed that the bureau in 1989 had pushed for a “preliminary inquiry” into Trump’s late wife regarding information from an unnamed source. However, very little information about what the inquiry actually entailed was released, apart from the fact that the FBI counterintelligence division was apparently involved.
One of the documents also reveals that it is not known whether or not these allegations “stem from jealousies of her wealth and fame.” Some of the legal files added to the case took a look at her immigration journey into Austria, then Canada, and finally the U.S.
It’s known that Ivana Trump was married to Donald Trump from 1977 until the 1990s. She was the mother of Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump. Ivana Trump had a long history as a businesswoman selling beauty products, clothes, and jewelry, and also wrote multiple books. However, she passed away at the age of 73 in mid-2022.
The FBI allowed 190 pages regarding Ivana to be released thanks to a Bloomberg Freedom of Information Act request. That said, the FBI has stated that in the coming month, it plans to release additional sections as well. Overall, there are still hundreds of documents under wraps.
