U.S. House Cancels Business During Biden's First Week

(ConservativeHub.com) – The United States is in the midst of the worst national health crisis in 100 years and the largest economic collapse since the Great Depression. One would think Congress would have a full schedule attending to the country’s needs, right? Apparently, that kind of leadership runs contrary to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s aims.

In a stunning move, she canceled house business for the first full week of Joe Biden’s administration. On January 21, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer (R) made a post on Twitter about the statement by Pelosi.

Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) offered a swift response to Pelosi’s announcement during a press conference, stating that were Republicans in the majority, they would not take the week off from work.

As McCarthy pointed out, there are plenty of issues for Congress to consider this week. Once again, Nancy Pelosi and other leading Democrats choose to lead from behind.
