US Claims Russia Is Interested in Weapons From North Korea

US Makes SHOCKING Claims – Russia Turning To North Korea?

( – Officials in the US are claiming that Russia wants to buy millions of weapons from North Korea. State Department spokesman Vedant Patel noted this move shows sanctions against the country are working as intended. Yet, Russia denied it is planning the purchase, dismissing the report as a rumor.

According to Patel, who was quoted by Bloomberg, if Russia goes through with such a move, it would indicate that the country is grappling with “severe supply shortages” caused by sanctions. Over the course of the last several months, dozens of countries have imposed penalties on Russia for its war in Ukraine.

Some countries, however, such as China, haven’t been on the same page as the US and the West concerning the situation in Ukraine, and Moscow and Beijing have been close recently. Still, despite that relationship, reports from earlier in 2022 suggested that China wouldn’t be supplying weapons to Russia. It’s notable that US officials have made clear that if China supports the Kremlin in this way, it could severely damage its business dealings in the US.

North Korea, on the other hand, is suffering from an economic downturn, and rumors about food shortages within its borders are rampant. Meanwhile, Pyongyang is already under international sanctions. Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un have been working toward building the relationship between their countries since August.

Still, any weapons Moscow might get from Pyongyang could be of questionable quality. Reports say they are likely from the Soviet era.
