Kansas Woman Sentenced to Prison for Training ISIS Battalion
(ConservativeHub.com) – Allison Fluke-Ekren is the daughter and granddaughter of US veterans, but somehow she declared allegiance to ISIS and became a trainer for the organization, creating the all-female Khatiba Nusaybah. Eventually, she turned herself over to authorities in 2022 and admitted her guilt. On November 1, the former school teacher and Kansas native received a sentence of 20 years in prison.

According to the DOJ’s press release about the case, Fluke-Ekren created plans to launch attacks within the United States, including one on a college, and translated captured US government documents from Benghazi for leaders. Her unusual position of authority allowed her to train over one hundred women and girls for warfare.
In her defense, Fluke-Ekren claimed she eventually realized her actions were wrong, leaving ISIS in 2019. She expressed regret for her actions in a statement to the court before sentencing, saying she “deeply sympathize[d]” with women who were victimized in Syria. Fluke-Ekren’s children asked the court to give their mother the maximum sentence for her crimes. They testified during trial that she was abusive to them and raised them in a life of violence.
In addition to the maximum sentence she received, the ex-terrorist trainer will also serve 25 years of supervised release.
