She fell ill for a short time, but they didn’t give a specific cause of death. The Watts had celebrated 57 years of marriage at the time of the famous musician’s death on August 25, 2021.
Charlie and Shirley Watts were a unique pair within the world of rock and roll. They had a lasting relationship and enjoyed a true love story. They married in 1964 at the beginning of the Rolling Stones’ popularity. Shirley Watts often went on tour with the band because her husband hated being without her.

The couple went through some bad times dealing with addiction issues. Charlie Watts fought a battle with heroin, and Shirley Watts became an alcoholic. Despite the lows, their relationship endured. The couple shared a daughter, Seraphina, and one granddaughter, Charlotte.
Shirley Watts loved dogs and horses and contributed to charities to help them. She was a big fan of her husband’s band and an avid artist.
Rolling Stones band member Ronnie Wood posted a heartfelt message on Twitter about Shirley Watts’ death. He expressed sadness at the news but happiness for the couple’s reunion.
