(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s wife Melania Trump, the former first lady, may reportedly avoid living in Washington, D.C., even if her husband wins back the Oval Office.

An Axios report stated that in contrast to former President Barack Obama and current President Joe Biden, during Trump’s administration, the Trumps avoided activities in the nation’s capital. There was even reportedly a “whisper campaign” about whether or not Melania Trump had lived in the White House or the suburbs with her parents following Trump’s 2016 presidential victory.

Writer Mimi Montgomery said that according to some “Melania-ologists” surveyed, if Trump wins a second term in the White House, it is “doubtful” that Melania Trump will live in the East Wing. Montgomery wrote that it is more likely that Melania Trump will travel between Palm Beach and New York City over the next few years and only visit the White House when there is a special event, state dinner, or other ceremony that she needs to attend.

Washington Post associate editor Mary Jordan, who has written a book on Melania Trump, argued that the former first lady did what she wanted and that her stance separates her from every other first lady. Jordan called Melania Trump’s view “unelected, not paid.”

Following the end of the Trump administration in 2021, Melania Trump has only made public appearances a handful of times and has separated herself from the “political scene” and her husband, according to author Kate Anderson Brewer.
