Woman Goes to Prison for Killing Young Son
(ConservativeHub.com) – Breaking his family’s heart, 17-month-old Axel Reynolds breathed his last breath in the spring of 2018. Investigators quickly questioned the circumstances surrounding his death after his mother, Heather Reynolds, ran out of her New Jersey home, calling for help with her unresponsive child in her arms. Now, she’s in prison for life.
While EMTs administered care to Axel, they told his mother he had died some time ago, which contradicted his mother’s story that he might have eaten something poisonous. According to reports, one EMT suggested the death was suspicious, prompting Reynolds to say she hadn’t done anything and that nothing seemed suspicious to her.
Witnesses at the scene also told investigators about Reynolds’ methamphetamine use, leading to the discovery of residue in the home.

Axel’s autopsy revealed he died of asphyxiation from a cleaning wipe held over his mouth and nose, leading to Reynold’s homicide conviction.
On July 28, a jury found Reynolds guilty of murder. In mid-November, Judge Gwendolyn Blue sentenced her to life in prison without parole for killing her son. She will also serve time for child endangerment and methamphetamine possession. Prosecutors believe Reynolds’ drug addiction and yearning to continue and conceal an affair drove her to kill the infant. Chief Peter Gallagher of Camden County Prosecutor’s Office was quoted by Fox News after the sentencing thanking the jury for putting their “time and attention” into the case.
The convict’s lawyer said she’ll appeal the case, adding that Reynolds was a committed parent, according to the Associated Press.
