(ConservativeHub.com) – New York subways aren’t the safest places in the world for various reasons. However, a recent event at the Times Square Station more closely resembles something from a spy thriller or Hollywood blockbuster than a real-life situation.
On Tuesday, October 5, the New York Police Department announced it arrested Anthonia Egegbara, 29, of Queens, for allegedly pushing another woman into an oncoming subway train. Police released a surveillance video of the disturbing incident on Monday, shortly after the attack occurred.
The video shows Egegbara suddenly arising from her seat on a bench and darting toward an unidentified 42-year-old woman, located just outside the surveillance camera’s view. Seconds later, the clip shows Egegbara pushing the woman against the inbound #1 train as it arrives at the station.
The video also shows one of the victim’s shoes flying through the air next to her, propelled by the brute force of the encounter. The remainder of the clip shows Egegbara casually departing the platform as if nothing unusual had happened.
According to local news reports, the incident took place on the northbound 1/2/3 platform at about 8:15 a.m. Fortunately, the woman didn’t fall in front of the moving train. Instead, police reported, she bounced back on the platform.
Emergency rescue personnel transported the woman to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Egegbara remains in jail on a charge of attempted murder.
