(ConservativeHub.com) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley argued during an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends with co-host Steve Doocy that she believed she would be able to attract the support of some of the supporters of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who announced over the weekend that he would be suspending his nomination. She further spoke about why she believed that she was poised to win in a potential match-up against President Joe Biden.

Haley argued that DeSantis’ supporters were currently “up for grabs.” In the interview which was aired on Monday, she argued that DeSantis’ supporters loved the United States and wanted to see a new generational leader emerge. She proceeded to say that this was something her campaign could give them.

On Sunday, January 21, DeSantis suspended his presidential bid after he came second in the Iowa caucuses. As a result, Haley is the only candidate that is still racing against former president Donald Trump who is the frontrunner in the presidential race.

Ahead of the primary in New Hampshire, DeSantis didn’t manage to reach even 10 percent of the expected vote. Trump continues to be leading the race against Haley. Many have also speculated that DeSantis’ endorsement is going to result in DeSantis’ supporters backing Trump instead of Haley in the election.

However, Haley has argued that she was aware that she was “getting to” Trump and pointed out his number of verbal attacks against her. She added that she knew Trump and that whenever he felt threatened, he would start lashing out.

Although Haley ultimately lost the New Hampshire primary on January 23, she has resolved to continue in the race and keep fighting for more votes.
