(ConservativeHub.com) – On May 9, President Joe Biden said that the border between the United States and Mexico was expected to be “chaotic for a while” following the expiration of the Title 42 policy. Fox News reported that Biden addressed reporters the following evening at the New York Westchester County Airport, where he admitted that for quite some time now, there has been “chaos at the border.”

While boarding Air Force One, Biden noted that they were concerned about ensuring that the border security efforts were fully funded. He added that all of the recent moves the administration has made have been focused on providing streamlined legal pathways that would allow people to properly migrate to the U.S. so that illegal migration could be curbed.

Since Biden became President back in 2021, his administration has face massive criticism, especially from Republicans, for not doing enough to secure the border. Previously, the administration took legal action against Arizona for using shipping containers to try to prevent people from crossing the border into the state. In the lawsuit, Arizona was called to remove the containers.

The administration attempted to extend Title 42, which has now expired. It also tried to stop the former President Donald Trump-era’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, which has now been reinstated.

While getting on Air Force One, the President replied to reporters’ questions about the more than 10,000 migrants that were being encountered daily ahead of the end of Title 42. With the expiration, many expected that there would be a huge uptick in illegal migration, although Customs and Border Protection official Blas Nuñez-Neto told reporters on May 15 that encounters had actually dropped by about half. He added, however, that it was “still early,” and he expected smugglers to try to “take advantage” of the recent changes.
