(ConservativeHub.com) – On Friday, August 11, President Biden didn’t answer any press questions as he was leaving the White House for Delaware, according to a report from Fox News. Earlier that day Merrick Garland, the Attorney General, had announced that David Weiss would be appointed as special counsel in the investigation into Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son.
Steven Nelson, a New York Post reporter, showed in a video a number of reporters who were shouting their questions at the President asking about the recent appointment. One reporter was also asking about the reports that Joe Biden was involved in his son’s international business activities and possibly getting impeached by the House of Representatives. While walking towards Marine One, Biden appeared to temporarily smile despite the questions.
Federal Prosecutor Weiss was previously in charge of the investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings and was the one to bring forward the tax evasion charges against him in Delaware. However, Weiss has also received a lot of criticism over the plea deal he offered the younger Biden, which was struck down by a U.S. judge. According to Fox News, the appointment of Weiss as special counsel in this case is also an indication that despite the claims of Biden’s legal team the investigation by the Department of Justice has not concluded yet.
On Friday during the press release, Garland also confirmed that the investigation was still ongoing. The language of the probe so far leaves open the possibility of other Biden family members also being included in the investigation. The Justice Department has so far refused to confirm whether or not President Biden is also being investigated as part of this probe.
