(ConservativeHub.com) – On April 2, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) blasted Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, who last week stated that he would not allow his state to assist in the potential extradition of former President Trump in connection to his indictment in New York City, despite the fact that no extradition request had been sent out.

Last week, a Manhattan grand jury agreed to formally charge Trump, who is currently a resident of Florida, on 34 charges. Following the indictment announcement, DeSantis took to Twitter to state that Florida would not help with any extradition efforts for the former President, despite the fact that Trump’s lawyers repeatedly claimed that the former President would cooperate fully with authorities.

Trump was arraigned on April 4 in association with the case regarding allegations that his former attorney paid adult film star to silence her on his behalf prior to the 2016 presidential election. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges involved.

Christie, who is widely suspected to be considering a presidential race of his own in 2024, criticized DeSantis for his comments, stating that it was “interesting” to have someone claim that they would not assist with extradition when no such requests had been made. Ge proceeded to ask DeSantis “Who the h*ll asked you?”

The law in Florida allows the governor to get involved in extradition cases if they are challenged. However, in Trump’s case, his lawyers stated that the previous President was going to cooperate fully with the authorities.
