(ConservativeHub.com) – According to a Sunday report from Fox News, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-TN), stated that during a news conference, he would disclose certain Biden family bank records which could be used as indications of bribery from foreign nationals.
This came just days before House Republicans revealed a report detailing records of millions of dollars in payments from questionable foreign companies to Biden family members. During the press conference on Wednesday, GOP members said the report didn’t serve as sufficient evidence of wrongdoing by members of the Biden family.
According to Comer, the investigation isn’t over and the Republicans plan to focus not just on Hunter Biden, but the current president as well. The New York Times reported that he would be issuing subpoenas in an effort to obtain new records from the information they’ve found so far.
Comer initially pushed the Department of Justice to potentially indict Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, following the press conference pertaining to the business dealings of the Biden family. At the time, Comer called for officials to hold off until the congressional leaders have made their revelations before proceeding with an indictment. He argued that this is because an indictment might end up being a “slap on the wrist” when compared to the information that they would reveal.
In an interview with “Sunday Morning Futures,” Comer had stated that he called for the US Justice Department to not indict Trump before the presentation of evidence. He added that the case is about more than Hunter Biden — it is about President Biden and the rest of the family as well. He said that there is a lot that the DOJ and IRS have not yet uncovered as they have not dug as deeply as the committee members have.
