(ConservativeHub.com) – The House Oversight and Accountability Committee has been looking into the ties between James Biden and Americore, a bankrupt hospital operator, as they continue their impeachment inquiry into the president. On Wednesday, February 21, the committee was set to interview James Biden, who is Joe Biden’s youngest brother.
In 2017, James Biden acted as a consultant in the Philadelphia area while his brother had only just left the White House. He allegedly proceeded to use his connections to assist Americore in bringing in money from drug rehabilitation, cancer treatment, and lab testing.
In one email sent to a Tampa-based company CEO, James Biden allegedly said that this was the perfect platform to introduce the businessman’s protocol to his “Brothers team.” The company in Tampa dealt with experimental cancer treatment controlled licensing rights. He had added that Americore wanted to provide the CEO with “real exposure.”
Politico released the email, which they had gained access to through a person who was close to the company.
A former Americore executive also claimed that James Biden had previously had talks about his brother receiving equity in the company. A different former executive also argued that James Biden had claimed that if Americore brought a successful model for rural health care, then his brother would be able to use it as part of his 2020 presidential campaign. All of the executives requested anonymity.
Americore, which filed bankruptcy four years ago, continues to be under federal investigation. In September, the Securities and Exchange Commission claimed that one of James Biden’s business partners was connected to the loans that the company had received. However, the partner has maintained that this is untrue.
During James Biden’s closed-door interview with lawmakers on Wednesday, he stated that his brother Joe Biden never had any part in his business ventures. He also refuted allegations that payments he made to his brother were an effort to launder money from China, saying that he was simply repaying loans Joe Biden previously offered him.
