(ConservativeHub.com) – Former Rep. Liz Cheney from Wyoming took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, January 23, to blast House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.). In the post, she referred to her as a “total crackpot.”

Cheney who had previously led the investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack for the House Special Committee, shared a link from a previous statement by Stefanik where she condemned the mob that had made its way into the Capitol.

Cheney in her post argued that there would come a day when Stefanik would be required to explain how and why she had turned into a complete “crackpot.” She added that this was something that American children and history deserved to have the answer to.

Following Cheney’s ousting from the House, Stefanik replaced the former Representative as the No. 4 in the House Republican leadership lineup. Cheney had lost her position in the House due to her vote to have Trump impeached over what happened on January 6 several years ago.

During the 2022 midterm cycle, Cheney lost her seat on the House of Representatives after she was beaten in the GOP primary.

While previously, Stefanik was considered one of the House moderates, it has been suggested in the media that she may become Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election, if he ends up winning the party’s nomination. Over the past few weeks, she had frequently defended Trump from critics and campaigned for him in the presidential election. Reports also indicate that Trump has spoken positively about Stefanik in the past.
