(ConservativeHub.com) – In a tragic incident in New York City, a man allegedly committed a horrific crime involving his family members. Early one Sunday morning, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) rushed to a residence in Far Rockaway, Queens, following an emergency call. A young girl had alerted the police about a cousin’s violent rampage in the house.

The police found a critically injured 61-year-old woman and rushed her to the hospital. Sadly, three others in the house were found dead: Rojaun Davis (12), Suzette Taylor-Davis (44), and Rickmon Davis (34). Mikayla James (11), also gravely wounded, later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

The suspect, 38-year-old Courtney Gordon, after allegedly committing these brutal stabbings, set the family’s couch ablaze and fled the scene. NYPD officers later encountered Gordon nearby. When approached, he reacted violently, attacking two officers with a kitchen knife. Both officers were injured but are in stable condition. During this confrontation, Gordon was shot by an officer and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey praised the officers for their brave and timely intervention. He noted that their decision to engage Gordon prevented further possible harm.

The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) arrived shortly after to extinguish the couch fire. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and it remains unclear if the initial 911 caller was among the victims. The community and the city are reeling from this senseless tragedy as authorities work to piece together the details of what occurred in this quiet Queens neighborhood.
