(ConservativeHub.com) – Donald Trump criticized Jimmy Kimmel, referring to him as a “loser” in reaction to suggestions that Kimmel may be nearing the end of his tenure on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The comment from Trump, who has often been made fun of on Kimmel’s show, came after Kimmel hinted in a recent interview that his ongoing contract could be his last.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump suggested that ABC could find someone “far more talented” who would achieve higher viewership ratings at a fraction of Kimmel’s salary. “They could get a far more talented person, who would also get better Ratings, for 5% of what they are paying this Loser!” Trump stated.
Kimmel, in a discussion with the Los Angeles Times, expressed that his current contract might mark the conclusion of his hosting duties. He said he thought he was on his “final contract,” but that he still had over two years to go. “That seems like enough,” Kimmel said.
Over the years, Kimmel, 56, has not shied away from critiquing Trump, ranging from serious accusations to humorous digs. According to Newsmax, his commentary has included labeling Trump “mentally ill” following the 2018 Parkland shooting and even joking about Trump’s demise. Kimmel acknowledged in 2022 that his outspoken stance on Trump might have alienated a significant portion of his audience, a stark contrast to a decade ago when he was notably popular among Republican viewers.
Despite the political controversy, Kimmel recently marked the 21st anniversary of his late-night show and is preparing to host the Academy Awards for the fourth time.
