(ConservativeHub.com) – Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) is reportedly pushing the Arizona State Bar to launch an ethics investigation of former state Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) after it was reported that he had knowingly hidden a report which refuted the allegations of voter fraud in the state’s 2020 presidential election.
General counsel Bo Dul, the general counsel for Hobbs’s office, stated in a letter that this type of behavior was harmful. According to the letter, which was received by The Washington Post, she further added that Brnovich’s conduct was damaging to “democracy,” the state, and legal work.
Dul called for a probe that would review all the files and from there would delete all comments and mentions of Brnovich’s conduct that needed to be reviewed and the “appropriate action” needed to be taken.
This letter was sent out after The Washington Post released a report on February 22 in which they published internal documents that indicated that Brnovich had kept hidden a March 2022 report. That report allegedly concluded that all the claims of errors during the election in Maricopa County were without merit.
Many of former President Donald Trump’s allies previously claimed that there had been voter fraud in Maricopa County.
An interim report in April 2022 from the former AG also claimed that the county had a “broke(n)” voting system. However, he did not include any of the evidence from the investigations that refuted these allegations. In September, he also put out an “Election Review Summary” in which he noted that there was no evidence regarding voter fraud. However, this report was not released until after Brnovich left office last month.
