(ConservativeHub.com) – On April 24, Former Vice President Mike Pence claimed that ending abortion is “more important than politics.”

During an appearance on News Nation’s debut episode of “The Hill,” Pence noted that defending unborn children is the “calling of our time.” He further argued that following the aftermath of the Dobbs decision, it is important that the “sanctity of life” is restored across the nation. He continued on to say that it may take as long as it took for Roe v. Wade to get overturned for pro-life values to become central in every state.

Pence has long been vocal about his anti-abortion stance and he has often talked about his disapproval of the abortion pill, mifepristone. Last week, he even stated that he wanted to see the pill out of the market so that the lives of unborn children could be protected.

The abortion pill mifepristone is at the center of the abortion debate right now, as in recent weeks a federal judge in Texas had ruled that the approval of mifepristone given by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had been rushed. As a result, he argued that two decades ago, when mifepristone was first approved, the drug that went to the market was dangerous. As such he blocked the abortion pill.

Republican-led states have also been increasing the restrictions on abortion with both Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) signing laws that banned abortion following the sixth week of pregnancy.
