(ConservativeHub.com) – In the early hours of a Monday, April 8, an incident unfolded at The Satanic Temple located in Salem, Massachusetts. Local law enforcement reported that an explosive device was hurled at the temple’s porch, causing damage, although no one was inside at the time and the decide failed to properly detonate. The event took place around 4:14 a.m., but the device remained undetected until about 4:00 p.m. the same day when temple staff discovered it.
Following the discovery, state police bomb technicians were promptly called to the scene to assess and neutralize any threat posed by the explosive device. They were assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), which joined the investigation. To ensure the area was safe and free from any additional threats, police canine units were deployed to search for any secondary devices. Specific details regarding the extent of the damage caused to the temple’s property were not immediately disclosed.
The investigation is being carried out collaboratively by local police and a joint terrorism task force led by the FBI. This is not the first time The Satanic Temple, established in 2013, has faced such threats. The Salem headquarters, which features a gallery displaying exhibits related to Satanism and historical witch hunts, also serves as a venue for various events, including ceremonies, lectures, and meetings.
Past incidents have also targeted the temple, highlighting ongoing security concerns. In a previous incident in June 2022, an individual was apprehended and charged with arson after allegedly attempting to set the building on fire, to which he pleaded not guilty. Additionally, there was an arrest made in Michigan where a man was charged with plotting to bomb the temple’s facilities in that state, as noted in the police press release.
