(ConservativeHub.com) – On Tuesday, November 15, Marc Thiessen, a former speechwriter for then-President George W. Bush, along with former Hillary Clinton advisor Philippe Reines, appeared on “The Story.” In their comments, they denounced hate and expressed their support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict overseas.

Thiessen in his comments praised Clinton for her “clarity” on the Hamas attack and stated she was a “wonderful” voice of support for Israel from the left at a time when Hamas terror has spread. He said Clinton has been clear on this issue and has repeatedly spoken up against Hamas and has pushed against a cease-fire.

According to Fox News, some Democrats were upset by Clinton’s recently published op-ed in which she argued that a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war would only allow Hamas to gain back its strength and regroup so as to attack Israel. She added that currently, it was better to have limited humanitarian pauses that provided them with a way of getting aid to Palestinian civilians and the Israeli hostages that are being held by Hamas. She further claimed that a cease-fire was not a solution to a conflict, but rather an attempt to have the conflict freeze.

Thiessen said that on both the far left and far right, there was antisemitism, but that the type of vitriol was not similar. He said that on the right, antisemitism is usually expressed by neo-Nazi entities while on the left, people in power are allowing antisemitism to be spread across the country, including on university campuses.

During his own comments, Reines expressed his belief that when it comes to youth voices, like those in schools, they should be given some leeway due to ignorance. However, he is more concerned about antisemitic attitudes and comments involving old adults, who he believes should be educated enough to know better.
