(ConservativeHub.com) – On Saturday, April 6, during a Republican fundraiser in Palm Beach, Florida, former president Donald Trump’s campaign team announced that it had raised over $50 million. The team said this is a record number surpassing other Democratic or Republican candidates.

Danielle Alvarez, a campaign spokesperson, said that Trump had managed to raise more than $50 million in a single evening, while it took three Democrat presidents in order to raise $25 million.

The fundraiser on Saturday was hosted by John Paulson, a hedge fund founder and billionaire, at a private home in Palm Beach. There were around 100 guests, including former U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, casino mogul Steve Wynn, and Bigelow Aerospace Founder Robert Bigelow.

Paulson in a statement noted that there had been overwhelming support for their fundraiser. He added that the support had come from a wide spectrum of donors.

Former President Donald Trump, who arrived at the event with his wife Melania, told reporters when he reached the event that this was an “incredible evening before it even starts” because of the people supporting the effort to make “America great again.”

While it’s believed the fundraiser will bring in tens of millions, according to Fox News, there is a wide gap in cash on hand that Trump will need to close as he only has $93 million available. President Joe Biden and the Democratic party have close to $192 million in comparison.

Late last month, during a New York City fundraiser with former President Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, the Biden campaign raised over $26 million.
