(ConservativeHub.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris recently expressed agreement with a podcaster’s claim that the 2024 U.S. election could be the nation’s last democratic election. During a conversation on the podcast “I’ve Had It,” co-host Angie “Pumps” Sullivan commented on former President Donald Trump’s past statements about dictatorship, saying, “I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say this genuinely could be the last democratic election we ever have.” Harris responded to the comment in agreement.

Sullivan further emphasized the serious implications of Trump’s words, suggesting that the threat to democracy could extend beyond just a single day. Harris then spoke about her interactions with global leaders, highlighting that over her last three international trips, she has spoken with more than 150 world leaders who have expressed concerns about the upcoming U.S. election. According to Harris, these leaders view the outcome of the U.S. election as pivotal, not only for America, but for global democratic stability.

The Vice President stressed the fragile nature of democracy, underscoring that its strength is contingent upon the collective commitment to defend it. This theme of defending democracy has been central to the reelection campaign of President Joe Biden and Harris. Biden himself has claimed that world leaders have pushed him to win for the sake of international democratic health.

In a lighter moment during the podcast, when asked about her favorite colleague in the administration, Harris praised Biden and his sense of humor. She also shared some personal insights, including the television shows she enjoys watching with her husband.

Beyond the podcast, Harris’s campaign activities have taken her to 16 states in early 2024, and she has engaged with the media in 36 different interviews, emphasizing the stakes of the forthcoming election.

In addition, Harris is scheduled to visit Arizona following a significant judicial decision by the state’s Supreme Court that upheld a longstanding law from 1864, which criminalizes abortion except in cases where the pregnant person’s life is at risk. This ruling and its implications are likely to be a focal point during her visit, illustrating the broad and impactful nature of the political and judicial issues at play in the current U.S. political landscape.
