(ConservativeHub.com) – On Thursday, March 14, Vice President Kamala Harris visited Planned Parenthood in Minnesota and received a lot of backlash from pro-life groups. The trip was prompted by the Biden administration’s focus on protecting women’s reproductive and abortion rights. This was Harris’ sixth stop on her “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour.
Harris’ visit was referred to as historic, as never before has a sitting vice president visited an abortion provider. During her remarks, Harris focused on how the GOP was working to threaten the rights that women had to reproductive health resources and abortion. As she argued this was an important health crisis.
She said that the Supreme Court conservative justices took away from the American people a previously recognized constitutional right. She argued that in states across the United States, extremists have put forward laws that blocked women from receiving access to reproductive health care. She added that it was only fair for people to be given access to health care.
Pro-lifers were quick to take to social media to slam Harris for her message.
Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins wrote about Harris’ visit on social media, saying she was certain that Harris had been shown around the clinic but hadn’t been shown an actual abortion. In a different post, she argued that they would not be accepting this type of “evil.”
The National Right to Life took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say that Harris was supportive of abortions being available until birth, even for healthy mothers carrying healthy children. “It’s who they are,” they said, adding that it was unsurprising that Harris was celebrating an “unlicensed abortion center.”
