(ConservativeHub.com) – A new poll suggests a significant number of Americans believe that the United States is becoming a virtual dictatorship, while many think President Joe Biden is looking to throw former President Donald Trump in jail in order to block him in the 2024 race.
According to a new McLaughlin poll, the majority of participants believe that Biden is intending to block Trump from winning in 2024 by having him thrown in jail. This has been perceived by some to be a similarity with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s case, as he recently won his reelection by 88 percent after jailing his political opponent Alexei Navalny, who has since died.
The poll found that 56 percent of all voters believe Biden is trying to put Trump into jail in order to win. The national poll included 1,000 responders and had a margin of error of 3.1 percent at the 95 percent confidence interval. The poll was conducted from the dates of March 9 to March 14. However, 30 percent of participants said that it was false that Biden was attempting to imprison Trump.
Eighty-six percent of Republicans expressed belief that the President has been weaponizing the justice system against his political opponent. This is something that independents believe 50 percent to 33 percent, and something that moderates believe 48 percent to 32 percent.
Many Democratic constituents have a negative opinion of the actions taken by Biden, with this view being shared by 53 percent of women, 53 percent of Hispanics, and 41 percent of African Americans. The poll also found that 67 percent of participants believe politics has played a part in Trump’s legal woes.
