(ConservativeHub.com) – On Saturday, March 23, former President Donald Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social his concerns about the actions taken by President Joe Biden and his suggestion that they may be illegal.
Trump in his post on Truth Social referred to Biden’s actions as “lawfare” and questioned at which point Biden’s actions against his presidential opponents would be considered illegal. He added that much like many highly respected legal scholars, he believes that Biden has crossed that threshold.
Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, similarly expressed concerns in an interview, arguing that although some New Yorkers had enjoyed seeing Trump indicted, others considered the decision to be a sign of a legal system in decline.
Turley during his appearance also expressed concern about New York City’s legal system currently and expressed his belief that the image of the city as a business and corporate hub was being threatened by the recent legal cases.
Turley argued that with New York Attorney General Letitia James agreeing to prosecute former President, this meant that she was engaging in “selective prosecution.” He also said that these systems have an “entertainment value” which has overshadowed the legal system’s “deterioration.”
Turley proceeded to say that many people following the recent decision consider New York to be too risky of a location for their business. As he argued this fear relates to the possibility of people being pulled into a political vortex which could affect how people were treated in the legal system.
