(ConservativeHub.com) – On Tuesday, May 30, former President Donald Trump appeared in a video previewing an executive order he would issue in order to stop chain migration if he wins back the White House. In the video, he also criticized President Joe Biden’s approach to migration and his border policies.
In the video, Trump claimed that Biden has caused an “illegal foreign invasion” of the US with his immigration policies. He added that under these policies, millions of undocumented immigrants have arrived in the country by breaking US law, and yet all of their children born in the country are going to automatically be given a US citizenship. As a result, they are then allowed to gain access to “welfare, taxpayer-funded healthcare, the right to vote, chain migration” and other important government benefits which could end up also being beneficial to the parents.
He claimed that in many ways, this policy rewards those who illegally enter the country and works as a magnet drawing people to cross the border unlawfully. Trump proceeded to allege that some of those who enter the country come from mental institutions or jails, and yet if their children are born on US soil, they are automatically citizens.
Trump has claimed that if he wins back the White House in 2024, his executive order would instruct federal agencies on the “correct interpretation of the law” which would not allow the children of illegal immigrants to automatically be granted citizenship.
