(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday, March 17, that former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who lost her seat in the 2022 midterm election during her state’s primary, should face prosecution after the recent allegations that she had destroyed evidence relating to the House’s investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack. The House has launched a new probe into the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, examining the former special committee that had been tasked with carrying out the original investigation.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump argued that Cheney needed to go to jail, along with the rest of the members that had participated in the committee. This comment was in response to a report from Just the News that claimed Cheney witnessed the deposition of a Secret Service agent. During the deposition, the agent reportedly spoke about Trump entering a limo and then heading to the White House on Jan. 6 rather than going to the U.S. Capitol as he had promised his supporters.

Former White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson, who also testified before the committee, previously claimed that Trump had gotten into a physical altercation with the Secret Service, trying to grab the limo’s steering wheel from the back seat.

However, Chair of the House Administration subcommittee on Jan. 6 chair Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) recently released a report that stated the driver specifically refuted the version of the event that Hutchinson had produced. He added that the driver testified they never saw the president reach or grab the wheel of the car. According to Just the News, the report from Republicans pointed to evidence that contradicted claims made by Democrats investigating Trump.
