Ex-White House Aide Says She's Where She Is Because of Liz Cheney

(ConservativeHub.com) – On Wednesday, September 27, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson stated that she was inspired to share her story about the end of the Trump administration by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

According to a report from The Hill, in an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Willie Geist asked Hutchinson whether Cheney, the former congresswoman from Wyoming, had been a big supporter of her during the time when she had to testify before Congress about the last few days of the Trump administration. In response, Hutchinson said that she aspired to be a leader like Cheney and that as a country, they needed to find and elect more people who were like her.

She then praised Cheney by stating that she had a “spine of steel” and cared “deeply” about the U.S. Hutchinson also said that having seen Cheney participate in a committee with many other Democratic members, she felt it was an indication of how dangerous the current times were for the country. She added that she was grateful for the assistance Cheney had provided and that she had come to this moment because of her.

Hutchinson then pointed out that while she would like to believe she could have gotten to this moment without Cheney, she was indebted to the former congresswoman for the help she had provided which allowed her to get to where she is today.

Cheney was one of the 10 Republicans who voted in favor of Trump getting impeached over his participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Last year, Hutchinson, who worked as White House chief of staff Mark Meadows’ aide at the time of the attack, testified about her experience on the day of the attack. Cheney was censured by her party in Wyoming for her decision to go against Trump, and later ended up being voted out of office.
