(ConservativeHub.com) – In a recent Wall Street Journal interview, Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston stated that she was “so over” cancel culture. She said in the interview that she was not willing to place people who had made simple mistakes in the same “basket” as Harvey Weinstein, a former Hollywood producer who was sentenced to prison following a criminal sexual act case in New York.
Weinstein made headlines during the #MeToo movement following the allegations against him by a number of women. In 2020, he was sentenced to 23 years behind bars for his crimes, and was sentenced to another 16 years in early 2023.
Aniston stated during her interview that she was most likely going to be canceled just for saying that she was “over cancel culture.” She continued by noting that she did not understand what it meant and questioned, “Is there no redemption?” She said she doesn’t believe everyone should be put in the same category as Weinstein.
Aniston, who became famous following her role as Rachel Green on “Friends,” had worked with Weinstein on the 2005 film “Derailed.” She shared that the experience was not pleasant, but that she more or less told herself to “suck it up.” She added that she remembers that when Weinstein was visiting her on a set to pitch a movie to her, she consciously made sure that another person had also stayed in her trailer.
