(ConservativeHub.com) – Last week, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) slammed President Joe Biden claiming that his administration was actively supporting the “genocide of the Palestinian people” as Israel was waging war against Hamas in Gaza.
In a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, Tlaib showed the number of pro-Palestinian marches that have emerged across the country. Thousands of participants have been attending the marches and calling for a cease-fire. In the video, Tlaib also added a message to Biden, stating that the American people were not supporting him in his stance. She said people would remember come 2024, after which text appeared on the screen saying that Biden supported the “genocide” of Palestinians.
The Biden administration has expressed strong support for Israel in the war against Hamas, and it has even pledged to send the country billions in aid. However, in the past few days, the administration has adopted a slightly different position calling for a “humanitarian pause” in the war so as to help the civilians in Gaza.
Tlaib, who has Palestinian heritage, has been calling for a cease-fire in the conflict. Last month, more than a dozen House Democrats also signed a resolution in support of a cease-fire.
The war broke out after the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, which resulted in thousands of Israeli civilians losing their lives. In response to the attack, the Israeli government launched multiple air strikes and more recently a ground offensive against Gaza. The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that more than 9,200 Palestinians, including over 3,800 children, have lost their lives as a result of the attack.
Multiple humanitarian organizations have said that the situation in Gaza was dire and that there were millions of people who had been left without water, food, electricity, and medical supplies. There are also millions of others who have been displaced as a result of the air strikes which have leveled entire neighborhoods.
