(ConservativeHub.com) – On Friday, August 25, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy in a campaign event in Iowa revealed why he was running in the 2024 presidential election despite the fact that former President Donald Trump was also in the race. During Wednesday’s Republican primary debate, Ramaswamy dubbed Trump the “best president of the 21st century.”

According to Fox News, he said the reason why he was running against Trump is because he believed that he could help take Trump’s policies “to the next level.” He proceeded to argue that as Americans it was necessary for them to aspire for “excellence” and to always aim higher. He added that when compared to former Presidents George Bush and Barack Obama or current President Joe Biden, Trump was clearly the best one, but that he was looking to build on what Trump had done and to help “take the America First agenda to the next level.”

He then claimed that it was necessary for the country to have someone from a new generation come in with a positive vision of where the country should go. He added that he thinks he is the only candidate able to “deliver a landslide election” and that he would be the one to create a “multi-ethnic working-class coalition” that would include people of different ages, races, and locations. Finally, he claimed that what was necessary for the country was to help reunite everyone and he felt that this was his responsibility.
