(ConservativeHub.com) – Americans for Prosperity, which is backed by conservative billionaire Koch, said that the GOP needed to “turn the page on the past” ahead of the 2024 presidential election. This was seen by many as a move against former president Donald Trump who has already launched his third bid for the White House.

The group noted that they would be providing their support to a GOP candidate during the presidential primary, which is not a move that they have ever made in the past. However, it’s been revealed that the candidate they support will not be be the former president.

Emily Seidel, who also serves as a senior adviser to Americans for Prosperity Action, the political wing of the network, wrote in a memo that it was time for their country to move forward and turn the page on their political situation. While Trump is not directly mentioned in the letter, CNN did report that AFP Action was not planning on backing the former President in the primary.

The Koch network is considered to be a very influential group in the GOP fundraising efforts with many major donors following along with their actions when choosing whom to support. So if the Koch network moves away from Donald Trump, could other major donors eventually follow suit?

Seidel in the letter also wrote that if The Republican party wanted to win the White House, they would need to have a candidate who would represent a new chapter for America. However, no other Republicans have announced firm plans for the White House yet, so it is unknown who they might choose.
