(ConservativeHub.com) – On Sunday, October 8, Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, was faced with a question about how to explain the “intelligence failure” allegedly associated with the Hamas attacks on Israel.

During an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos, Blinken didn’t answer the question directly, but said that there is going to be a time in which they will look into anything that intelligence could have possibly missed. However, currently the focus is on repealing the aggression of the Hamas terrorists. He added that it is necessary for Israel to push back the terrorist group and establish their position in order to avoid any such future attacks from taking place.

When asked specifically about the United States’ alliance with the intelligence forces in Israel and how that could impact the US, Blinken reiterated that they were going to continue examining what they might have missed prior to the terrorist assaults.

Blinken also noted that the U.S. does have close ties with Israel, including its military and intelligence. He pointed out that as such this is something they will investigate. However, as he repeated the focus was on repealing the Hamas aggression which had been unleashed through the coordinated attacks. He added that the majority of Hamas militants who had invaded Israel were now dead but that the fighting in Gaza continued.

On Saturday, Hamas launched a surprise coordinated attack which included several missile strikes. Hamas militants also entered Israel where they kidnapped many military members and civilians. The death toll in the conflict has been evolving rapidly in recent days, but President Joe Biden said in his last address that the number had topped 1,000.
